Provider terms
Last updated September 14, 2026
These terms are for contractors and cleaners who buy AskHelp leads. Plain language first: we generate the introduction; you own the job.
Lead marketplace
AskHelp is a lead marketplace. Credits are spent when you win or are assigned a job. Lead cost depends on the trade — licensed work such as plumbing or electrical uses more credits than handyman or cleaning. That credit pays for the introduction — not for supervising your work, not for insuring the site, and not for standing behind a warranty.
Your work, your warranty
You are an independent provider. You handle quotes, scheduling, invoices, permits, job complaints, callbacks, and any warranty or guarantee you give the customer. If a customer is unhappy with the work, they should contact you first. AskHelp may help with platform issues (account, credits, matching) but is not the contractor of record.
Vetting and checks
You submit licence and insurance placeholders, then start identity and criminal-record checks. Admin reviews the stub today; a Checkr-like vendor can replace the stub later. Public badges appear only when a check is clear. Do not advertise yourself as “police verified.”
Fair use
Keep coverage, trades, and availability truthful. Do not spam customers. Ontario workplace, tax, and licensing rules stay yours to follow.
Location
When you go online, you share live location so we can offer jobs near where you are. That is required to be on duty. Home city and postal code stay on your public directory listing and are a fallback only when you are offline or the last ping is stale. Going offline or signing out stops live job offers. Stay online with live GPS while you have an assigned job so the customer can see you on the way. Live coordinates are not listed on your public directory profile. Ops maps and the assigned job page use live GPS only — home city is not a substitute.
Credits and accounts
Unused credits are for AskHelp jobs only. We can pause an account that fails checks or harms customers. These MVP terms sit under Ontario law.
